RE Audio SE12 Install

I just got 2 12" RE Audio SE installed in my Cadillac CTS powered by a US Amps XT4000D running at 1ohm load... they sound ok... but there is something weird.

First of all, they only sound a little better (SQ Wise) and louder than my 2 12" Kicker CVR's in my other car. The sound quality is very sub-par in my opinion. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

And second of all, when I turn off the car, the subs "pulse" for about 30 second intervals for about 5 minutes. If I open the trunk to look at them, the subs immediately stop. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

P.S. I have an FI Audio Q 12" coming in on Monday, and I will probably have it boxed on Tuesday, and I will be posting a very detailed review comparing the two.

Edit: Maybe something's tuned wrong?

um. sounds like someone ****ed up your install. that 'pulse' has nothing to do with the subs.

and what kind of box are they in? did you drop them into the cvr box and thats that? because they love ported boxes. like 1.3 cubes @34hz is a good place to start for a 10. not 100% on the 12.

but 1500w for the pair is about right. definatly should be a lot louder than some cvr's and sound quality is all a perspective. try listening to some different kinds of music. not just rap.

check your ground location. make sure its tight and completly touching bare metal.
You're not going to believe this...... there doesn't **seem** to be any grounding on the amp... the amp is mounted in a way that I can't see the wiring too well, but looking at what's left of my wiring kit, there is only a piece left of the ground cable. So if it is grounded, it is probably poorly done so.

They have the exact same box as the kickers. 2.8cuft with 13x3x11" port.

Note: I unplugged the input signal... it "fixes" the problem (at least the auditory part).

Vids coming soon.

There will be a get together on the 27th of October for all DFW members here. Its just a day to have fun and build a few projects. Several very intelligent people will be there to guide each other. If you need help before then just let me know.

Those are the wires going from the amp to the subs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

yeah i went to his house today, whoever installed it, didnt use a relay for the turn on lead(since he is using stock HU). the turn-on lead was just stuck in the fuse bay under "odd inj/coil" fuse
