RE Audio RE Series 6.5 Components

someone has the XXX re comps on sale here on the forum for 250 which is a good price. they will cost you around 400.00 online and between 500.00-600.00 in some audio shops
That's a bit out of my price range unless I could find a buyer for my Critical Mass 6.5's.

Are you familiar with active bi-amping?
No I am not, but I just hit wikapedia. I'm interested. I'd like to do this right the first time. If you've got some advice or could steer me in the direction of some literature on this it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Well I'm going to give them a try. I just paid for a set. It'll be a couple weeks before I install, but I'll post up my thoughts once I get a listen.

They're one of the best entry-level sets I've heard. I've been running an older pair in my wagon for about a year and a half now and they do well on all types of music. Midbass is lacking, but my doors are not sealed particularly well since I don't want to blow a lot of money on a car worth $800.

I'm running approximately 120 wRMS per side, and they don't break up even at max volume. Tweeters are slightly harsh at high volumes, though. The midrange sounds great, though. If you like guitar rifts, and loud, clear vocals, you'll love these speakers.

All in all, they're a great set for the price.

Thanks for that man. Makes me feel like I made a nice purchase. I'm going to run 60x4 @ 4ohms to start. I'm sure I'll turn down the tweeters some. If that's not enough volume I'll scratch the active crossover and run a turned down 200x2 through the passive x-over to them. I'll just have to play around till I get the best sound, but I'm excited to try out my first set of components.
