RE Audio: 2 SR 12's vs. 1 SE 15"?

So out of curiousity, which would hit harder and cleaner, 2 RE Audio SR 12's or 1 RE Audio SE 15"? Both options running at their power(600 watts) (I don't have an amp yet). And I also heard that these subs hit harder than the Alpine Type R, is that true? Thanks,

- David

That's what I was thinking, but can't hurt to ask, can it? I've never heard RE Audio in person before. But i've heard the type R, how do you think they compare, any comment on that?

I just did a install on a 2004 ford f350. He had 4 12" type r's on 4 mrp-m450's, and went to 3 15" SR's on 1 us amps md1d. The r's did a 148.3 and the Sr's did 150.8. The SR's are very good woofers for the $$$$.

Awesome, yeah for the price, you can't really beat it, can ya? My friend has 2 12" MTX 7500s, you think I have a chance to beat him with these subs?

I would love to see that install.

Oh ok, that's not so good, haha. But what i'm trying to get is something that will hit way harder than my JL Audio 15W0 and still keep some SQ. So if I can't beat him, oh well. As long as I meet my goals.

I'm just wondering.....am I wandering down the wrong path of subs? My budget is pretty limited and what I meant by my goals was to get the loudest I can at the same time sounding decent. the only other subs i've had in mind are the Memphis PR's. So i'm trying to get a pair of 12's or a 15" for under $200 and run low wattage (600 watts and below) but sound pretty loud but decent while doing that. You think these subs will fit me?

details, termlab? what frequency? burp box? daily? need details, thats a decent amount of cone area but i don't see a 150.8 off 1200-1400watts. but VERY interested(i was looking to run 2 of them) not calling you a liar, but want the details

OK, im curantly running a 15" SE on 400watts(lame) and it gets pretty **** loud. off 800watts its actuly to loud for my needs. ive had a single 12" SR and a single 12" MTX 7500. SR on 300watts and the 7500 of 400watts. even if the SR had the extra 100watts the MTX was working with, there would be no way it would keep up. i had the 7500 and the SR in the same box, tuning was at 40Hz. also i hit a 136dB with the MTX. NOW 2 12" SRs VS the 15" SE. both of there respective power of 600watt total. ill go out on a limb at say both ported. lets also asume that box volumes would be pretty close to the same AND tuning would be in and around the mid 30s. i would put the money on the SRs, and they are pretty ckean sounding as well, but will a pair beat some 7500, if the 7500 are getting there 400watts each, the anwser is NO. but if u maybe upped the juice a bit, i would say the SR could hang on. also i had a RF punch DVC on 800watt tuned to 60Hz and it hit a 140.1, and ill say that my 15" SE is louder by a hair.

Alright, thanks 406er. Just wondering from your opinion(because it seems like you know what you're talking about) how do you think a pair of Memphis PR 12's would hold against 7500s?
