RE amps overrated?

I need a 700-800 rms @ 2ohms for $200 or less. RE's at Sonic looked like they're ok. Any recommendations?

Ya....they outsourced. No more us amps, just all re now. They are going mainstream. I don't like it.

If you are referring to the new DTS 1000, I like them. I have been selling RE for years and the amps have been hit or miss for a while. I feel that the new DTS amps are great for the money. The mono blocks really perform. THey are full featured and have fans built in. I have sold many of them and have only had to warranty one of them. They really do have good power like the reviews on sonic claim. I don't think they overrate them as much like the XT2 and XT3 amps. I haven't used any of the XTX amps yet but for the price I can buy them for it might be time. Everyone says the woofers have gone down hill, but I can't confirm. We got in on the end of the us amps run. IN my opinion if you run the woofers with the power specified I don't see you having any problems. I have been running the same set of RE sr woofers for 5 years now at double the rms power with no problems, and I beat them pretty hard everyday. The woofers have excellent sound quality as well. Hope this answers all your questions.

no disrepspect, but as a dealer, your biased, regardless.lol

their older subs were great, their newer are decent.

for the price there can be better new alternatives. the only new one i would run would be a MT or XXX for a good price..,

the mx's had many problems. period.

their amps are touchy. i loved my old SX i had, an 05 model... was one of my favorite woofers.
