RE 8's ported box questions??

Hey guys I have never used 8's ported. I am going to build a box for 2 RE RE 8's off an alpine pdx2.150 amp. I am thinking about ported and the website says .5 at 35hz. Should I go any bigger or any smaller than this. I also would like to know about how much port area I need say like a 4" aeroport or whatever the case may be.

hey im about to build a box for 2 Ascendant Audio assasins ported....and they are 8's...im going with 1.2 cubes ported tuned to 38 htz...after much reading 8's can get low but like a little bit of a higher tuning because of their size

Well that was kinda my thought but I didn't really know for sure.
