I'd wager my bank account that no current production 3" coil is taking anywhere near a clamped 6k for any real length of time.

x2. not many 4" coils will be close either...like u said, just cuz u have the amps doesn't mean the sub is seeing the power. shoulda clamped it or something. what was the sub wired to? what was imp. rise?

i dont know the impedence rise , but all kinz of rap, even screw'd

Music is reactive, you're never seeing 4k on that coil for anything more than milliseconds IMO.

well i know it was seeing way more than 4k for a lil longer than sum milliseconds, of course music is reactive but the bass line of "throw it up" chopp'd n screw'd is a little demanding if you know wut i mean. Im just saying I "know" it will take 4k+ all day ! peaxe

And I'm saying a 3" coil will NOT take 4k+ ALL DAY LONG.

I've played with both Subs and they will NOT handle 4k each daily Period.

well brain surgeon, if youd actually read the post I said it was 5.6k strapped. I guess it all depends on your definition of daily also, I mean you if consider 6 hours at full tilt daily then, i unno. . but I really doubt very many guys have the electrical to back even 4k at full tilt for six hours. I still say the HW will take 4k daily, cant speak for the DD since ive never owned or tested one.

that was a ac 180 and that mic was 3db high compared to a tl. i was there also

at iasca finals i ran my car through the iasca lane then imediately ran it through the dbdrag lane there was 1 db dif. between the ac meter & the tl.

If you are looking for 2500w rms than use the Alpha MAX it costs less and will handle the 2500 np and will also sound better.

For actual guys who ran both of the subwoofers side by side go to USACI's form and ask. I think there is around 5-7 guys who set records after changing to HW's.

Just from personal stuff i have used at shows for hours upon hours straight is the following.

I had three single spider HW on two RD5750's at .8 strapped, .4 each amp, 10 group 31's and three mechman alts.

I would turn in all the way up 153+ on the dash and walk way from it sometimes 10-15 mins at a time until the alts had to cool down. Never smoked a sub and only smelled them a couple times.

This is a SINGLE spider version with a 65mm tall coil. Not 100%on actual power but it was two 5750's @ .4 each with all that electrical and alts set @ 15.2 never dropping lower than 14v.

Alpha MAX with single spider, one d9 same batts and alts @ .375 daily all day long.

My boxes were also built like fort knox but with correct boxes and clean power the HW or Alpha MAX will surprise you.
