i know the OP is a newb, but don't feed him that garbage about 15's hitting lower cuz we all know its BS, and on top of that don't answer him based on what you have for sale.2 15" re se's dual 4 ohm. wire them down to 1 ohm... it has less cone aerea than the 4 12's but most everyday listeners want lower bass. 15's can do that for ya.. in fact if you want a pair of dual 4 ohm se's i have some for sale !!!
your using the overall diameter of the sub... not how it works, but thankfully RE actually lists effective piston area on their website4 12"s, because of cone area. ~353 sq inches vs ~452 sq inches.
ok, my bad. i would still go with the 12"syour using the overall diameter of the sub... not how it works, but thankfully RE actually lists effective piston area on their website
12" SR = 480 cm^2
15" SE = 810 cm^2
so 2 (15) = 1620cm^2
and 4 (12) = 1920cm^2
so the 12's have approx 19% more cone area than the 15's
well if you really want to get technical the SR's are 1.8db less efficient but twice as many drivers as the SE'sBut wouldnt the SEs be a lil louder than the SRs because of the better subwoofer?
No because it is the same power going to them. But wouldnt the SEs be a lil louder than the SRs because of the better subwoofer?
