RCA interference!!!! HELP!!!!!

I made a thread not too long ago and all i got was an *** hole saying that it was the ground wire. I promiss you it is not the ground wire because i try other amps and it works perfectly. I have used different RCA cables and the problem is the RCA inputs on my amp. I will get the RCA snuggly into the inputs and it will be perfect and then i start driving and hit a bump and there will be a high pitch whine that goes along with the RPMs of my car. I jiggle the RCA next to the amp input and it goes away and will remain perfect until i hit a small bump. I tried to tape the rca in a spot where the noise goes away but im sure this will not last long.

My cousin said he saw something like wrapping some copper in a figure 8 around the RCA inputs.... will this help? Is there a special technique i should use. I am going to get a new amp because of this problem at christmas, but i am looking for a temp fix until december.

Yeah.. Shit, I've had this happen on TV's and stuff... Just after a while the hole becomes "loose" and the inputs are no longer snug...

I would bend the cable, and tape over the top of the bend, so it is pushing the RCA in... Not sure what else you can do...

ever heard of the copper figure eight idea?
I have, Actually saw it on this forum not to long ago. Basically what they did was wrap some copper wiring around the RCA inputs and from what I remember it fixed the problem.

But, if I can recall, they were having interference, not this loose jack kind of problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Let me look around a bit and see if I can trudge up the old thread :p

Well you see i am having the interference no a loose jack kind of problem. They fit very tightly just will cause interference for jiggling just a little bit. Do you happen to know the name of the thread or anything remotely close?

ground loop isolator???? is this what i need to do i have no earthly idea what this means just one solution i happened to find while searching. Can someone explain what a ground loop isolator is and how i could use this is my application?

Sorry bro, No luck finding the thread X_X I have no idea what it was called, but do remember a picture of 4 RCA jacks with copper wire figure-8'd around them.

As for the ground loop isolator, I am not familiar with using any of these so I have no real advice, but from what I know, it is a box that you connect between wherever your getting the ground loop and what it does is gets rid of the ground loop. If your grounds are fine and other amps don't have this problem though, I doubt it is a ground loop causing this problem. But a ground loop isolator can be had for like 10-20$ from radio shack or any electronics store similar to it, so if all else fails, you can always give it a try.

Sorry i couldn't help more :p

well thanks man i think i will go try this figure eight..... is there any reprocousions i might have for wrapping copper wire around both RCA inputs like it wont hurt my amp or anything will it?

You may want to get some different RCA's. They have some that are directional and are made to have the wire wrapped around to pick up noise and then it doesn't connect at the amp end so you get rid of the noise.
