RCA interconnects wiring *question*

I want to swap out my rca cables for my 4 channel amp and get new ones. I looked at the brain on my dvd player. There is 2 rca cables in the non fader location. How come I dont see 4 rca cables, but I see 4 rca cables in the back of my 4 channel amp? I thought this would be a easy swap in and out. btw everything is hidden obviously under the rug so I dont see anything or what they did. I thought 4 rca cables go behind the brain of my dvd player. Why are the 2 rca cables in the non fader? There are 2 other ones with front and rear.

That bad or good? I still want to know where the 2 other RCA's are. I thought 4 plug into the head unit or brain?

a Y adapter takes the original line and splits it. go pull up your carpet and find them
