RCA Connectors + Protection Mode

When I connect my RCA connectors to the PREOUT connections my amp (pdx 1.1000) goes into protect mode. I can have them connected sometimes but when I turn up the volume like (5-10) it goes into protect mode again.

This all just randomly happened while I was driving to school. I've done a lot of research and tried everything from re-grounding my amp to checking the voltages on the RCAs. I don't know what the problem is.
