rattling speakers, wiring or box?

I just purchased 2 volfenhag ZX-4710. I only have one enclosure right now. It is a single ported enclosure. The 10" volfenhag is a little too big in diameter. It's depth is right it doesn't touch any part of the box. Both speakers are brand new and they both sound as if they are blown. They are rated for 800w max and 400w rms. I am running a 600w american pro amp to it. I have connected them as 2ohm, 4ohm, and 8ohm. all three give out no bass and a bad rattle. Does anyone know if the box could be doing it, or does anyone have a sugestion. Please contact me through this thread or email me at shimmy_sha_brad@yahoo.com.

Thanks

you should have done some "REEEEEESEEAAAAAARRCH" -uncle!! But yeea, sell the whole system, and start afresh dont worry ive been in the same situation as you, just not the stuff blowin up part.

look around this forum, lotsa pple are willing to help the needy.

I figured out that my problem was all in the wiring, and also in the box. I had to re-wire my speakers to the amp and also I had to sand the diameter of the box out about and centimeter or so to allow them to fit in it right. These things bump better that what I was expecting. I was shocked. I wish that ya'll could hear them.

Thanks though.

c'mon you can't look down on me. I think that these woofers are the best for me. I only have one in at the time and I am considering now selling the extra speaker cause it puts out enough. I bought a new volfenhag zx-8200 1000w amp to go along with it. Yes I guess that you can say that I am going for looks and sound. I guess that I just got them both now. I rate these speakers higher than what I thought I would. Although I have to admit that I miss my old system. (2 JL 12 w3 in a custom bandpass enclosure powered by a VOLFENHAG 750w amp.) But my budget will not allow me to get that again.

Also does anyone have any idea on how to make a pioneer 4600 take out the mids and lows out of the rear speakers. It is keeping me from being able to turn the volume up without bottoming my infinity 6X9.

bah, anyways, for the 4600 (i have it) you need to keep pressing the bottom right button of the face till you see something that says BAL or FAD. Pressing up or down on the directional pad controls your Balance and pressing left or right on the directional pad controlls the FADE. Or was it that other way? i don;t knonw, i am drunk :p anyways, when your on either the FAD or BAL setting even if you on FAD, moving the UP or DOWN will automatically control the ballance. So in other words, you can control either way if your on a diffffffferent setting

I understand that but it still puts too many lows in my rear speakers not allowing me to get the best and loudest sound. I think that it will all change when I get my other sub hooked up.

What kind of crossover would you recomend. I was looking at, a few months from now, just getting a new HU that will allow me to mess with each channel.
