Perhaps you can turn the bass down on the head unit and turn up the sub to compensate? When the HU is limited like that it's a compromise.

Better to turn the bass boost down on your HU so the 6X9's can handle it. I imagine your front speakers must be breaking up too, right?

yeah they both break up and it is anoying cause I just got this new system and I really want to hear what it can do but my rear and front speakers are not allowing me to do even a half of what I know it can do. If I turn down the bass in my HU then I am unable to get the effect of the sub. I think that I am going to just sell the HU that I have now and get a Pioneer Premier 470. It is a little nicer than what I have now and it is about $30 more than what I can sell my current HU. I have only had the 4600 for about 4 or 5 months. It is BRAND NEW!!!! That makes me aggrivated.
