Rated or Overrated?

i like the hifonics line. my bxi 2607ds are doing pretty close if not at rated, but they are rated at 14v instead of 12v like most companies. if you can keep volts up, you can get the rated power out of the hifonics

Have all you guys that are bashing hifonics, actually tested a hifonics? I have a bxi2010d and after figuring everything out...I'd say it does rated at 14.4v.

Hell, you can even go by fuse recommendations for the bxi2010d and know it has to do at least close to rated. 200 amp fuse...200x14.4=2880 watts @ 70 percent efficiency = 2016 watts...

Fuse sizes does not equal output. We've been over this on forums before.

As for Hifonics, I've always liked them and used them multiple times (I've had a 1206, 1606, and 2008), but to say they are under rated is pretty bold.

I know fuse size doesn't always equal what the output is going to be...but it IS a good indicator of what you might be getting...

For example, that 5500 watt amp that he posted only has 5 30amp fuses...come on now

that's strange i've seen in many post of people using the same thing when comparing sundown amps to others. u can't have it both ways

i've seen people doing it many times over, even with the sundowns, fosgates zapco's, rd, dd all of them

yeah they're Quick to use the ol (it's not a real 1500 watt amp it only has 100 amp fuse, mine has 150 so you don't have 1500 true watt's, but get another cheaper brand with the same 150 amp fuse, and all of a sudden u can't go by the fuse rating to compare ) it is a good indicator to see what you may be getting. i have a lanzar Vibe 1200d, car and sound mag, did a review on it in 2002, i've my for 9 years, they got 1262 watts out of it and it has 3x30 amp fuses, and it had 67% eff, i only paid 200 each, those specs, compare with todays amps would make u laugh lol. but even with 1262 watts with 90 amp fusing. it's like 140 watts per 10amps of fusing with 67 percent eff
