Subs:

I can get them for $290 in town

Amplifier:

Quick question about this amp: Is it TOO powerful for the subs? It is an 1800 watt amp, but the subs have Peak Power Handling: 600 watts and RMS Power Handling: 300 watts.

Will I be overloading my subs with this amp?

Total Price: $735 before wiring and install. This bring me to my next question: What kind of wiring do I need for this? (I'm a noob) Would I be better off buying the wiring in town or online? How much should I expect to pay altogether?

Btw: My car is a 2001 Saturn SL1 4 DR Sedan

Thanks a million!

dont mind the peak numbers, look for rms, they play at 900 @ 1 ohm and 500 @ 4ohms, so it should play around 700 according to the numbers... just set the gains accordingly, and they should be fine. and for 735, that's quite a bit... have you thought about buying used?

you would need a power kit and a set of RCA's

I can get the amp a bit cheaper on ebay. I havent found the subs or HU cheaper anywhere //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Have any links handy for a wiring set? Or should I just buy the wires in town?

The comp VRs didnt sound any louder than the Comps at the store I went to today...Any other sub recommendations?

BTW: My price range is to stay under $750 before wiring and install

Keep the headunit and the ipod adapter.

I would get a single Fi SSD 15 and pick up an amp that does around 1100 watts either used from the classifieds or from sonic electronix. if buying new look into a hifonics amp or one from Power Akoustic. used the options are for the most part endless.

I only suggested the 15 because of cost...two 12's goes a weeee bit over your budget. the Fi's are receiving great reviews from everyone that has purchased them. and they are taking more power than what they are rated for. search around the reviews have been awesome so far. you can also check out the Fi forum over at http://www.teamssaudio.com
