rate my setup!

I give it a 4 plus bonus if you have a clean DIY install. I have a pair of 6x9 3-way Sony speakers that are 15 years old, been in three cars (including the rear of an off-road wrangler) and still sound decent in the wife's mini-van now but I've never owned a Sony HU.....they have anything but good reviews.

I like the Infinity if you got a good deal. Infinitys can produce great highs which can be real sharp......which isn't as ear killing in large spaces like SUVs.

I'm going to give you a 6 because if that's your first system I think you've done pretty well. When I first started out I honestly thought my Kappa 3 ways running off my Xplod's deck power in the rear deck...and even faded to the rear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif ....sounded pretty darn good.

I give it a 2 only because of the head unit. You are only as strong as your weakest link and Sony H/U are weak compared to say Eclipse or Alpine. I even like Pioneer (as a budget h/u) better that Sony.

id say 5 everyone has to start off somewhere.

i started off with 2 kicker comp VR 12s, a blaupunkt amp and some mtx components with a kenwood HU that the face stopped opening on shortly after i bought it.

well this is my first system. but whats all this negativity saying i **** and all? and no im no fool i did not pay retail for this stuff, i paid half of it cuz i got a hook up at good guys. and yea everyone tells me the Sony HU is trash, as i will get rid of it soon for an Alpine. i only bought the sony HU cuz it matched my interior perfectly. just give me a little slack tho, will ya?

and BTW, its 300 watts pushing 1 w3. why do some of you hate JL Audio? i think its very good...

not a big fan of any of it to be honest //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. With a nice install it should sound decent though.

4...
how so its your first system you have no personal experience with their equipment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Uh maybe he has heard jl in other peoples setup. I know its sounds crazy but he's prolly not the only one around there with some jl stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

If ya can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. People gave their honest opinion. If ya didnt want the truth, then why ask? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

People tend to dislike jl because its way over priced...at least imo.

i think all these people that dont like sony should shut up. sony is a good budget hu and all of my sonys out performed my pos eclipse 8445 that i am selling when i get it replaced. however the sub amp i would get a differant one but as for the rest those tweeters are harsh to me.btu i think solid 5 if you got a differant sub amp, maybe a matching jl amp form classifieds and youll be 6 to me.
