Installed my 15 inch 06 L7's today..built a box, must be roughly around 5 square feet for both of them. Installed the amplifier, refurbished 2000 watt lanzar...It blew up first try, pissed off, trying to get a refund of some sorts. Amatuer hookup the way I constructed the box...

The only good thing about the box is it is ghetto looking..

Was told I should have added a center wooden piece to seperate the two speakers. I didn't know this in time.

Was out in the cold cutting all this wood in like 34 degree weather or so.

Not sure what amp I have enough money for to make them sound beastly like they should. :-(

ehhhh OK //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif they dont really go together lol

don't worry i hate your life to.

when making a cube like a box, you use cubic feet not square feet.

was this ported? a box that big needs bracing. a multitude of things could've gone wrong here

and finally, what the hell are you trying to ask in this thread?

Ghetto looking doesn't mean it'll make it sound bad.

Now the seperation board messed me up.

The kid at home depot was an idiot. He obviously didn't know you get a 1/8th inch difference as you cut. So by about the 4th or 5th cut on my wood there was nearly an inch worth of difference..I had to touch the thing up myself before even putting it together.

Problems A and B...unless B is an Opti, those are nice...

Well, I noticed alot of people like the person above who crucifies someone before asking a question. Yes I had meant cubic feet. I wanted to ask what amp would be suitable for these two. A decent one for the money, not asking for super specifics. I'm somewhat new to what kind of amp would power the two subs at a good rms.

i would like details on how everything was setup cause you may have a bad install which caused the amp to blow, so we'd like to avoid that next time so we don't have a second thread about your amp blowing.

Now, I know you're gonna flame me for the setup but the amp was bogus. I hooked up a kicker one from a friend and it ran them like shit too but it's because the kicker amp was 10 years old, and looked like a radiator. It was too old and had been sapped dry by the 15" jl's it had been running so it wasn't accurate to gauge it on running these kickers.

I have a 5 gauge power running to the back, which was too short. I hooked it into a multi amp hookup that had a 6 gauge wire or so running to the power. 100 amp fuse to this line.

An 8 gauge or so ground.

Remote wire.

Two kicker 15" L7's. 2000 watts max, 1000 rms.

2000 watt two channel Lanzar viberant, a piece of shit so I've been told now.

cheap route...you could do a Bxi2006 and i'm sure they'd be pretty loud, but not getting the max potential out of them...plus the bxi line is kinda iffish imo....

if i were you, i'd look for an Orion 2500D in good shape...that should wang them nice and hard...and there's usually always a 2500D or 2 for sale....
