You really need to predrill your holes, you are splitting the **** out of those connections

You've got to be using a bad bit or wrong size or too large of screws. Predrilled holes wont split 90% of the time.

i predrill but i get some sometimes. i didnt predrill for my bat box and that was a mistake lol
