BS, T. Jackson has played before this year, even started some games.......T. Jack's first pass sunday = TD
He won't quit because he loves the spotlight. I don't get why people don't understand that.
My point was not about Favre's performance, or even his own personal decision to come back from retirement. It was that he does not decide to stay in the game, the Vikings manage decided to keep him playing in the NFL. And so far as I know, Favre doesn't call the plays (ie: more or less running plays), the coaching staff does.Wrong. The Vikings have one of the most dangerous RBs in football at their disposal. Brett Favre is expected to "manage" the game, spread the ball around a little and NOT throw INTs. He did those things well last year, but this season it's a different story. His turnovers are taking the ball out of Peterson's hands, and that's directly leading to losses. Brett Favre's piss poor season is reason numero uno why the Vikings aren't winning.
The Vikings would be instantly better with T. Jack under center. And it's not because Jackson is a good QB, it's because Favre is THAT bad.
As much as I admire and respect Jordan (more than any other professional athlete of our time), he has some distinct similarities to Favre. Jordan wavered plenty too. Went to baseball, then came back to basketball. Retired, then came back and made very little positive impact.IMO, Favre is tarnishing his career right now, the game is tired of him but he cant let go, instead of going out in his prime like a Jordan and gaining a unanimous respect, he is ruining every bit of support he had because he can no longer play the game.
But Favres decision making skills are causing the team to lose. He doesnt seem to know how to throw the ball away or check down as much as he could. And Brett can audible on the field. Final plays would be decided by him, Look at Peyton manning. My point was not about Favre's performance, or even his own personal decision to come back from retirement. I cant play football to save my life. Im a middle aged white guy. But if an franchise offered me millions to step on the field, I would. Wouldn't you?T. Jack's first pass sunday = TD

I dont know the intricacies of the Vikings offensive strategy to say for sure, but perhaps Manning is allowed more freedom to change plays at the line. You can say a lot about Favre, but I dont think anyone can make the argument he hasn't shown himself to be an experienced QB. In his prime, was he better than Manning? I dont know, I have a lot of respect for Manning. But we at least should acknowledge Favre had an impressive career. But Favres decision making skills are causing the team to lose. Deion Sanders is awesome lol.I dont know the intricacies of the Vikings offensive strategy to say for sure, but perhaps Manning is allowed more freedom to change plays at the line. Like someone above said, Favre had a pretty solid season last year. Do we expect every QB who has a bad streak/season to take themselves out of the game and the league? Again this is a management decision, not one placed on the shoulders of individual players. If it was the other way around, that ahole Dion Sanders would probably still be playing.
Again, aside from your point about taking TJ under his wing, everything else you said is a management decision, not a decision for the individual player.Deion Sanders is awesome lol.
Im not saying Brett hasnt had an amazing career. Hell his starting record itself says that ( and out shadows some other starting records that are by far more amazing IMO ), but IMO, Bretts career is at the point where he is trying to force stuff to show he still has it so he can stick around, maybe its the money, maybe its the memories, maybe its just cause he loves the game so much, but i think he is starting to show that his skills and playing condition are deteorating and he is making himself look bad. Is he the worst QB in the game today, NO, but is he the best, NO and is he the best starting option for the Vikings, No. I think Brett should take T.JAcks under his wing if he hasnt already and start helping him. Brett should give him reps in practice and halp him learn so when brett steps out, T. Jacks had one of the best helping him. But honestly i dont think Brett has enough class to do that.
A player can pull themselves from a game if they see fit. I think Brett would rather play through his injuries than pull himself. Im sure management is trying to give him the benefit of the doubt type thing because of who he is but im sure if this was any other QB, he wouldve been benched or close to it.Again, aside from your point about taking TJ under his wing, everything else you said is a management decision, not a decision for the individual player.
Maybe TJ has a severe body odor problem.
Again, if a franchise offered me millions to step out on the field, Id do it. You wouldn't? I think you are holding Favre to too high of moral expectations.A player can pull themselves from a game if they see fit. I think Brett would rather play through his injuries than pull himself. Because football is a team sport. Players are supposed to do what's best for the team. If it was boxing and people were willing to pay Tyson millions to fight again it would make sense. But Brett is already rich, so he doesn't need the money and as someone who's been in the league so long he should know about the importance of teamwork and doing what's best for the team which in this case means sitting on the bench and helping coach Jackson.Again, if a franchise offered me millions to step out on the field, Id do it.
