Random question about sealed enclosures...

I just want to get something clear...when building a sealed enclosure, will the actual shape/structure of the box affect sound quality? For example would I notice a difference in sq going from a plain old cubed box to an L shaped cube? Like a 3-dimensional L shape.

Yea, my buddy build a 3d L and he didn't like the sound but I believe he just built a sh***y box. I've heard abnormal shaped boxes BUILT WELL and there was no problem.

Ok, another question....I was told today that givng subwoofer TOO much airspace inside a SEALED enclosure can decrease sound quality...is this true?

That's why you build the bottom and sides then make a barrier between the sub and the rest of the enlcosure. It will be the same as a smaller one but can be bigger. By barrier I mean wood going from one side to the other.

I've heard a perfect cube can produce standing waves, not sure if that's actually based in reality or just theory. I've always stayed away from it just in case, how hard is it to make a rectangle. Other than that just worry about stability. Resonance is bad juju.
