Thinking of buying a pair of 5x7 coaxials rainbow dream line kx for my front doors.

How do these compare to other speakers? Would I be better off getting a cheap set of components?

whats a good price for them used?

You might be better off auditioning other speakers yourself to make any real comparison. Listen a bit and see what type of other lines sound good to you. Although a good pointsource coaxial might be easier for tuning, components will most likely give you more flexibility in your set up tonality and imaging wise. As far as pricing goes, used equipment are often 30% to 70% of the original price, so it's hard to say, depending on its condition.

so how do the rainbows compare to other speakers like infinity references and jl evolutions?

They blow the infinity away, close with the JL but I am not a JL Audio Fan. IMO, the Image Dynamic CXS V2 line blows them all away.
