anyone use the ensolite??.....how much does it really help and would anyone here absolutely recommend that i use ensolite in my install of the RAAMmat BXT deadener

It works great. You should install it all over the inside of your cabin.

i did just the raammat, then the ensolite. seemed to me like the raammat killed the resonance of the metal outer shell of the car, made the bass sound a lot more solid.

the ensolite mostly just insulated against outside sound. helped just a tad with the stereo but made a big difference in road noise.

...and that's exactly how it's supposed to work.I just finished matting my car with Raamat (2006 WRX) and even with the mat alone the car got much quieter. Waiting for better weather to finish her off with ensolite.

Raamat is very pliable, easy to work with, sticks very well (too well) to everything, easy to "shape" into any bends/crevices/etc.

From my own research and opinions of many others it seems to be a great product (many call it as good as Dyna...) and the cost is sustantially lower than many other products, especially Dyna...

Mat = sound DEADENING

Ensolite (foam) = sound PROOFING

If you still have trouble understanding the difference you should research it a bit more (plenty of info everywhere online) to understand how each affects your car, and sounds/noises in it.

You should use both. raammat = mass loading, ensolite = barrier loading.

As mentioned above, give Rick a call. Expect him to talk for a long time, but he will be able to answer every question you can possibly have about sound deadening. And as for your original question, yes it definately helps to install deadener and then foam.

ensolite isnt foam, its a thick mat.
