Shouldn't have to at all. The cutout is a tad larger then what sundown calls for. Let me know how things are going.

had to shave a bunch off the bottom to get them to fit then I just put it in the jeep and its WAY too deep theres only like 2" of space from the back hatch CRAP! I'm going to have to face them up and it sticks way the hell up blocking half my window this *****.

Wow, we went by your dims with the enclosure. How did that get to be incorrect?

Let me do some looking around real quick to see why you had to shave more out of the cutout for the sub. I cut 1/16 larger then the cut out required by sundown specs so I'm not sure how it was off. I will send out an email and see if I can find out how it was incorrect.

Give me a call if you have the time so we can figure out how the enclosure was to deep.

Cuz we had to increase the cuft and u went deeper, we should of went higher this type of thing happens to me a lot I'm so sick of things not working out the way I want them too.

We did increase the size, but it was only 22.75 which was less then the 30" we had to work with...get some pics and lets see what we can do to help get this fixed.

Well I think it's ok being closer to the rear hatch If I mount my amps lower on my rear seats I can get another inch more room i think, but wow man you know how to build a box lol. Next spring I want to get a newer SUV hopefully with more room in the hatch and one of those compartments in the hatch floor where I can install my amps.

So how does it sound and perform? Glad it worked out for you in the end. If you get another 1" or so you will be around 8-9 inches from the rear hatch area.

Sounds great it's a lot louder than my other box seems to hit more notes but my jeep rattles so much from it that it sounds distorted but you can clearly tell its rattle and not distorted lol. The box sounds really decent for SQ if I get a newer suv and deaden the entire thing next spring it should sound amazing. Heres some pics I took.

There is about 8-9 inches of room I think if not more it's closer than I would like but still works. My brother said that's where I want it for more spl closer to the rear hatch is that true?

Using the hatch for a loading wall typically does yield a higher spl number. It is all about application though.

I just think it would make it rattle more than if it was farther from it but it seems to be working ok, I really need to move my 4 channel down a bit and maybe the aq2200d then I can push the box back another inch or so.
