So after many years of great service, my cyclops started acting up. Heard a small pop immediately after powering her up. Did it two more times with the same pop sound, and I thought I saw a little flash from the amp enclosure......

...So I took the cover off, checked for loose connections, rolled tap on my camera phone and powered it up. After powering up without the pop, I though for a second maybe it was a loose connection or something minor.....

On the bright side....my car didn't burn down. lol

Off to Amp medic in port richey FL......fortunately he's only about 45min away.

I had an amp FET go out and it shot a little fire stream and made a high pitch sound like cheap fireworks for a solid 5-10 seconds years ago... had the back cover off the way it was mounted and got to watch it. Was an old BOSS amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Steve at Ampmedics is a miracle worker. I dropped by a few days ago to hand off my amp to him....He was waiting on parts for all his other orders, got my amp fixed by the next day. what a turn around.

it now has better quality mosfets, cleaned up mosfet mounts with new heat tape, a rebuilt input amp stage, and a few little attention to detail things done to it to make it that much better....and the final repair cost was very reasonable.
