I would'nt know about Zed, But it depends on the which Zapco line. At least Zapco tells you up front on their website which of their amps are imported from overseas.I was just sitting here remembering back to about 1987 and recalling the sweet feeling of 2 Zapco 220's pushing a pair of M&M 15's behind the seat of my '79 Chevy.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

back then i couldnt afford the high end stuff so i had a pyramid (i think) pb300 on 2 kicker 15's... lol the good ole days. I love the old skool stuff

chinese and american workers are both people, both can make good amps both can get in a fight with there boss and **** up every board they touch for the next 2 weeks.

First that comes to mind are JL, MTX and RF, although I'm not sure if some of their amps are chinese / korean.

I read somewhere that even JL amps are built out-of-country.

I also heard that JL is a German based company.

But if there is an ounce of thruth in what I hear nowadays from any car audio shop, than every American car audio company has their low end stuff made out of the country while the high end stuff is still American made.

i believe zapco's dc reference and reference series amps are made here but the iforce isnt

I know most are overseas. Arc is overseas, all of it, but the facilities over there are still top notch, just cheap labor. The products coming out of china,korea,etc. are made in top notch facilities with top of the line 5 million dollar equipment, it is just you can hire 50 people to do what it takes 1-2 people here a day in cost. Sad but true.

JL's HQ is in Miramar, FL. Their amps are built in Korea and China.

Well I stand corrected. So anyways, while JL is the topic of the last reply... Are they even a good brand? I mean. I've been hearing nothing but great things about JL since I've heard of them, but ever since I got on this forum it seems like more people are knocking JL than supporting them. So are they really as good as they're hyped up to be?

Their products are top of the line. I just wouldn't ever pay for em because you can get products that will outperform theirs for half the price.

they are good stuff, though i like their subs better than their amps, but overpriced IMO. Not everyone will agree though.
