"Factory Renewed" L5....good idea?

Hey all. I am thinking about purchasing this factory renewed L5 from HiFiSoundConnection.

It will be receiving 900 watts RMS. Do you think it can handle? Is this a good idea? they have the same sub brand new for $25 more.

hifi is authorized for kicker IIRC, so I don't see why there would be a problem?

Better to be safe than sorry though, and spend the extra bux.

actually it is $94.95. But ya, that is right.....it is a good deal on a pretty decent sub......but the other one, the new one, is $119 somethin.....so it's not a HUGE difference.

the remans are indeed all new soft parts, but if you can get a brand new one for $20something more....

So if I did end up buying the refubished one, and it blew, how good is Kicker's customer service? Do they fully replace it, or fix it, or what? I heard their customer service isn't bad.....

I have the same question about the 1200.1 amp from Kicker. About all of them I find are remanufactured. Would HifiSoundConnection be authorized to sell the amps too, thus having a warranty from Kicker, or just subs?

yes, they are an authorized dealer, ever have an issue, just send it back to them, they cover it under the period.

I bought a refurbished 15" l7 off of ebay and it snapped a tensil lead soon after the warranty expired...I called Kicker and got a crappy employee telling me the company i bought it from was responsible and they couldnt do anything...called the company and they said Kicker should take the sub in..the kicjer employee ranted to me saying it may be a month or more b4 i got my sub back and that he guesses they could take it back for repairs....needless to say i was surprised when another sub showed up 7 days later!!!

didnt get the best employee from kicker to talk to, but another sub in 7 days??? thats hard to beat! and my warranty had been expired 5 days..
