quick sundown amp wiring question

ok so im currently wanting to hook up a sub to my sundown 3k amp and was a bit confused on how exactly to get a 1/2 ohm load on the amp. since it has two speaker inputs for wire. From what ive read and researched, the inputs are paralled internally on the amp, so if the sub is dual 1 ohm, do i just bring a positve and negative from each coil to a set of inputs on the amp which would give a 1/2 ohm load or do i need to do some "paralleling on the sub itself? Thanks for the help and sorry if im already asking a question already answered, but i guess im not finding exaclty what im looking for.
