quick question....

check the gromet where the power wire passes through the fire wall? look for small cuts in speaker wire and power wire. may i ask why you have a 250 up front?that seems affally huge for the amps you are running.

hmmm. if your running an anl fuse @ 250 A up front but your blowing 120A worth of fuses, then something putting out over 120 but under 250 is going to your amp..........get a cheap voltmeter and test for a short in the wire. check the alty too. test the posi to the ground. it sounds like its grounding out somewhere. usual place for that is in the firewall hole that u have to make to run the line thru ur car.......

hows the car running>

that doesnt make any sense to me... i need help asap because i got my big install done and i can't hear the **** thing now with no amp! I think i'm going to cry..

here's a little more info on it.

When the car is off, if you try to put a 40amp fuse in the amp, it will instantly blow and sparks will fly. car doesnt even have to be on. the remote / ground is getting 12v, and the remote / ground are getting 12v.

Skep man did you end up taking one of my volt meters? Cause i can't find one after you left.

I highly doubt it is the wire. It is some good thick sh!t. I didn't see any cuts when i pulled it through the firewall. There were also no sharp edges.

if its not then the amp is cooked and considering "when" it happened it must have shorted out somewhere. not saying anyone did a crap job but sheet does happen. i would bench test the amp

there are a few things he can do before he sends it in. benching it and testing the wires as they are. test 12v from the power and ground. i had to go through a 5 yr old best buy install to find out why rear speakers quit working in a church van lol. (i got yelled at for it to shows you how much that lifetime warranty means) ended up taking 2 hours and the place where they ran the new speaker wires ended up getting pinched over time due to people stepping on the trim it was under. it was really a bad idea install considering they could have moved the wire to under the carpet...the trim had about 10000 little gripper teeth digging into the wire and carpet.

when i was in ohio i did a little test with it. i used one of monte's volt meters.

(+) to (-) = 12v

(+) to (rem) = 12v

i'm so sh*tty i cant listen to it. anyone got any ideas? i'll take apart where we ran the wires through and see whats goin on. bump for a Magnum with no AMP!
