I’ve been setting gain with subs connected the whole time.
Ive been doin it wrong then?

I should set gain with my stereo a little less than max, bass knob on max, and then the gain goes up to the recommended output voltage. And I do all this without speaker wires connected? Correct?

I've seen wood restore kits that are similar to bedliner. Those come in different colors and iirc, you can tint them.
