Speakers do not blow from being underpowered.. Giving them too much more power then their RMS is where u run into distortion. When u hear the distortion and ignore it and keep turnin it up, thats when u run the chance of blowing things up.

 
yea, that was what my understanding of it was

by dispute around my town i mean between me and the dooche bag at lasalle

he tried to tell me that u cand blow the speakers by underpoweing them.now how the hell does that make sesne?

 
You usually hear this story from sales reps trying to get you to buy a more powerful amp than you really need.

"Hey you better give those 4" coax. more than 200w RMS or you'll blow em'!!":crazy:
