x=2y-1/3y+3

how do i slove for y?

x-3 = y (2-1/3)

x-3 = y (2/3)

x-3 = (3y)/2

2 (x-3) = 3y

2x - 6 = 3y

(2x-6)/3 = y

something like that...i havent done this in months...

1. subtract 3 both sides

2. combine the y's

3. divide both sides by the answer to 2-1/3

4. answer

me too.... but this is basic. i took algebra 4 times gonna take it 1 more time next semester

It reads

x=2y-(1/3y)+3

x-3=2y-(1/3y)

x-3=y(2-1/3)

(x-3)/(2-1/3) =y

edit: math is easy.

But wouldnt it be x-3

Haven't taken a math class in four years, I think this is what you do

(3y + 3)x = 2y - 1

3xy + 3x = 2y - 1

2y - 3xy = 3x + 1

y(2 - 3x) = 3x + 1

y = (3x + 1) / (2 - 3x)
