See last post on first page1) multiply both sides by (3y+3) --> 3xy+3x=2y-1
2) subtract 2y from both sides --> 3xy-2y+3x=-1
3) subtract 3x from both sides --> 3xy-2y=-3x-1
4) factor out y --> y(3x-2)=-3x-1
5) divide both sides by (3x-2) --> y=(-3x-1)/(3x-2)
that is correct...thank you very muchHaven't taken a math class in four years, I think this is what you do
(3y + 3)x = 2y - 1
3xy + 3x = 2y - 1
2y - 3xy = 3x + 1
y(2 - 3x) = 3x + 1
y = (3x + 1) / (2 - 3x)
x = 2y - 1/3y + 3x = (5 / 3)y + 3
x + 3 = (5 / 3)y
(x + 3) / (5 / 3) = y
(3(x + 3)) / 5 = y
(3x + 9) / 2 = y
IF you go by how it was written...i.e. OofO
is it 3y or -1/3y?im having a brain freeze...
x=2y-1/3y+3
how do i slove for y?
