Kenwood's KAC-646X 4 Channel amp is rated the following
35W X 4 at 2Q 14.4v........if I were to bridge this to two channels, what can I get at 4 ohms? I'm looking for an amp to push my CDT components (CL-61A)
I've owned several of the KAC-646X 4-channels. Bulletproof little amps with a fairly small footprint.
Alpha's guess was right on the money.
Those amps' ratings are as follows: (given a 14.4vdc input)
25w X 4 @ 4 Ohm stereo
35w X 4 @ 2 Ohm stereo
70w X 2 @ 4 Ohm mono bridged
Not too long after I joined CA.com I sold a matched pair of these amps to a fella that wandered over here from another forum. Great little amps, versatile as all get out. Decent filters but I could wish for variable settings rather than On/Off for either LPF (fixed at 80Hz) or HPF (fixed at 150Hz).
No problem - I ran one of those amps for years (literally) in several different configurations. Bought it new (from Sears, of all places!) and when I sold it to Infinite012 last year with another one just like it I bought from eBay the fuse in the chassis was the same one that Kenwood put in it before I bought it new in the summer of '97. 8 years of everyday use without a single issue ever makes me reckon I got my money's worth from it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
