Quick question, extreme flex/sound deadening

I still don't know what you are referring to saying 'Metering the box' . Unless you are referring to something else and saying it in a way im not understanding...
Take a digital multi meter put it on ohms check you output on your box. Make sure your box is indeed wired to 1 ohm.

Iv done both numerous times guys. I just test the speaker wire, its at 1 ohm every time, never changes.

And every clamp test i do, i around 65 volts, and anywhere from 10 to 17 amps depending on what test tone frequency im using. Impedance rise crazy, anywhere from 4 to 8 ohms.

Still don't have an answer or resolution.

ever check to see if any wire is burnt/semi burnt? Happened to me and i lost over 70% output

I only have 1 run of power and its good.

Wouldn't anything power related be evident in my voltage? I mean, its obvious when something is drawing power thats in the 3k range vs 1k. I stay so solid at 13.9 14.2, amazes me im running any aftermarket amps at all...

Im talking about speaker wire too, not just power and ground. Amp putting out proper voltage one thing but actual current traveling through the wire to the subs completely off. Again, the amp sounds like its working fine if it puts out proper voltage.

Not really if you're running a 270 it's feeding your batteries more than enough I never drop- below 14.5 now not even at night with ac and everything running music full tilt.
Ok you two.

I just got some local help and tips. Went ahead and threw the M3b on a different woofer in a different box, and was immediately evident right away it was getting more power. I dropped to 11.5 right before clipping. Re did the same test to be sure on my box, same song, wouldn't drop under 13.8.

He gave me two ideas that id like some confirmation on: one being my single run of 0 gauge is maxed out , and even though im not pulling current or dropping much voltage, it could be a kink.

Secondly, the port on my box is too big, causing massive impedance rise. I dont think the box itself is too big, DD woofers love big boxes. But, he was legitimately impressed with how awesome my lows sound. I metered i believe 144 @27hz burp. I dont compete, but apparently thats good ,especially for an amp thats not putting out more than 1/3 its potential.

Also said maybe i need to run an additional run of ground to the battery. My understanding is shorter the better though.

I feel better after today. Finally making some headway. Please discuss.

The board is screwed directly to the back walls sheet metal 2with screws
So you have the holes going staright through the back wall and their visible from the outside? I thought of that but didnt want to drill more hole in my truck

I mean, if you know their there and you peek thru the little gap between the bed, yes there's probably a quarter inch of screw visiBle

oh ok i guess ill just do it currently i have a belt holding mine lol i just didnt want to drill MORE holes in my truck and im scared water will get it but i guess i can just silicone it or something

I had the same worry. I only drill in out of sight areas. This panel i put up is behind the rear seat cushion. Willing to bet the future owner, if that time comes, definitely wont ever have the seat out.

Only crazy audiophiles turn pickups into SPL vehicles. Lol.

And the screws on the interior go thru a layer of carpet that's along the wall anyway, wont be visible when i take it out. Also, i figure screws put in very tightly on a vertical panel have very very little chance of letting water in. Not.only would it have to defy gravity, it would need pressure to blast thru the minuscule tiny little gaps, if any at.all.

Not worried about it one bit.

I've had it that way in my truck for 3-4 years without any issues. I ended up gluing it like I said previously just for longevity and because I don't really give a **** about the next owner, there probably wont be one lol

IMO gluing it is the best way, screws can (and will over time) pull out in sheet metal unless you use bolts. I noticed with the screws that the wood had to form to the back of my truck and it caused gaps that would rattle terribly. I would of had to use a screw every few inches to force it flat and that many holes starts becoming an issue with me
