Quick question about ohm load.

Is it true that if I have 2 Kicker CVR 12 inch dual 4 ohm subs connected to my Kicker ZX 750.1 amp, that my amp is only using 1/2 it's power? My subs are wired to 4 ohms and my amp is 375 watts @ 4 ohms and 750 watts @ 2 ohms. Would there be a difference if I got 2 Kicker CVR dual 2 ohm subs?

yes,if the final load was 2 ohms,you would get more watts from the amp,looks like right now your only giving those subs 3-400 watts totall

get a amp that does 1600 at 1 ohm and rewire your subs to one ohm

Daaamn the shop I go to is hella supid they gave me 4 ohm subs to go with this amp. Is there a way I could double check to see if these are 2 or 4 ohm? They didn't give me the box..

use a dmm to test the coils. also the sub should be labeled. also, you can probably tell by the model #. what is it?

How do I test the ohms with a dmm? What do I set the dmm to and where do I put the dmm terminals? I know I'm a noob

just pull the subs out the box and tell us what the model number is on the subs...

I don't feel like unscrewing the subs from the box. How I do it with a dmm? I have a meter.

set meter on ohms and +to+ and -to- at the terminal cup

Set it to check ohms and just hook up + and - and it should read either 8 ohms or 2 ohms if its d4

and if they are in parallel they will be ~1 or ~4 ohms
