Would running a car audio monoblock sub amp that's stable at 1ohm be ok to run at 8ohm?
aren't those the people that live in like Pennsylvania, ride horse & buggy, forbid electricity and telephones and wipe their a$$ w/ their handsOhmage sounds like a religious word. I say it too.
Yup, Was just wondering if the extra resistance was bad for the amp. My directed audio d2400 does 1200watts at 1ohm. So hopefully getting around 150watts @ 8ohm. This 8w3v2 only has an rms of 125.just letting you know you will literally get about 1/8 the power that it puts out at 1 ohm.....so that sub better take almost no power or you better have a beast of an amp
just to give you a hint my IA 20.1 does 1800 at 1 ohm and at 8 ohms itll do 225....

just set the gain to give you 125w at 8 ohms. Because amps aren't 100% efficient, they make more than rated power at higher impedences in order to get rated power at the lowest stable impedence. So, your probably looking at 250-275w at 8ohms for the IA 20.1 mentioned rather than the 225 you would assume by the ratings.Yup, Was just wondering if the extra resistance was bad for the amp. Sounds pretty good, definitely have more power than this thing can handle. Just messing around before my 12 gets shipped. Might make it into a HT or bedroom dj setup sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
