Quick MT Recone question

I got a recone kit for 15" MT from Atomic...but they didn't attach the coil/former to the spider assembly. I need to know at what length to attach them???

I've been told to leave about 1/4" above the spider assembly...anyone know if this sounds right and how critical the margin of error is?

The margin for error is rather small, one slip and you could get coil rub or any number of other problems. Sorry to worry you but its a fact.

You should get a refund for it. What you have isn't a "recone kit", it's a handful of parts.

2x without knowing the correct place to glue it, you'll be just guessing in the dark unless you measure out the depth of the entire stroke of the coil length, and then you'll still be half azz guessing. it SHOULD of been marked where to attach the spider, but I guess they're not too concerned if the recone parts work for you or not, they seem to just want to sell stuff. they actually reconed it....sent me my sub with a coil that didn't fit...and then they sent me these "parts" like PSI said cuz I was so fed up with Atomic I decided to re-do it myself.

Well once I figure out where to attach the spider...I'm going to proceed with the recone. If it doesn't work out, oh well I learned my lesson and I'll order a REAL MT recone kit.
