Quick Help: Two RE 8"s vs. 2 AA Assassin 8"s

My setup will consist of two 8" subs sealed, my sister of two 8" subs ported.

Of the RE 8"s versus the Assassin 8"s, which would have the best "SQL" sealed or ported?

It depends. Never heard the RE subs but haven't really heard much good about the quality of the bass that they put out. OK on the output based on what I've heard about them.

I own 4 8" Assassins and they are very nice. Really good output from a pair in a fairly small box tuned for SQ. Was running about 800w to the pair I had installed and they were very comfortable with that amount of power.

I have an RE 10 that I put in a ported box (don't know my specs right of hand) and with ~500 watts (easy on gains) it sounds REALLY nice.... like helotaxi was saying though, the output isn't the greatest. It does get decently loud, it does shake the rearview, it does impress, but it still isn't AMAZING output. The build of it does feel "light"... nothing real beefy about an RE. All-in-All... I like the RE, it was exactly what I was going for.

That being said.. If you are going to want more output (which you will def get from a pair of 8s) then the RE might not be the route. I've never heard the AAs but ALWAYS heard great things about them. If you can get a pair of each, try them. If I recall correctly, Bigbassman claims the re's to be the loudest 8's he's tested. I have no experience with them. But I can say that the Assassins really come alive when ported. Went from 2 ported to 4 sealed and was happy with it...but when I put 4 in a ported box they really opened up.

Not nearly. He did hit some pretty good numbers with the 16 (iirc) that he put in his wall tuned low, but the choice was based mostly on price (the Assassins weren't out at the time). They could only handle the 100ish watts each that he was sending them.
