it's been an eventful week for me... with picking up all that mtx stuff etc., plus it's really nice to be on a forum where there are people who know more than me about things.

what have you been making?
may be able to get away with it on small projects where strength is less of a factory and/or able to overcome it onlarge ones where you have no choice- i had to use the bad stuff when i went down to grand cayman to do some installs last year and wow was it awful, but it worked out ok...

Do you have any specific recommendations on what resin i should get then?

i use

expresscomposites' basic polyester resin (expresscomposites.com)

similar product is available from a few cheaper online retailers, and a few that drastically overcharge you (selectproducts...). Ideally, you need to find an "expresscomposites" type place which is local to you. tehre are major hazmat fees associated with shipping resin.

someone from texas must know where to get the good stuff in houston?
