Quick car question: steam/hissing/coolant dripping = bad hose?

....steam, hissing & coolant dripping is usually associated with a bad hose? It was dark last night and I only had my cellphone backlight to see, so I couldn't make out a distinct hole on the hose, however there was a blotch.

 
Yes! Its leaking and it will only get worse. Replace the hose, or ghetto tape it. Bars Leaks makes a fluid that stops leaks. I wouldn't reccomend dumping it though.

Replace the hose, its like cooking waffles.

 
just hope it's not a cracked head and the coolant is leaking on the manifold. Hope that it's only the hose.
yeah. i figured that out on my way to cincinatti this summer. after about 70 miles averaging about 90 mph my intake manifold or whatever the hell you call it blew a hole in it and my car overheated in about 1 minute, forcing me off the road. The worst (and best) part was that I was the only guy and I was driving 4 girls. The looks on their faces when we broke down on the highway was priceless. Thank god for AAA.
