Quick BTL question

[Apocalypse boy 10+ year member]

All right after a good 30 minute beating on the BTL i touched the dust cap of the sub and noticed that it was very very very hot. BUT, there was not a smell of anything burning or anything. Is this normal? All options besides cooling.
