Quick alternator wire question

I just bought a chevy alternator. It has a green wire for ignition and yellow is for the dash volt meter.

Now this alternator is going in my jetta. Green wire is the exciter wire correct? And obviously I don't need the yellow one. I dont have a dash volt meter.
