At the risk of being roasted...what happens if I were to connect two speakers to same channel. For instance, I have a four channel amp. I am tempted to wire, not in series or bridge, but to just shove two speaker wires into one channel for +/- and two speaker wires into the channel two +/-. The remaining two channels would be bridged to power my sub.

I am temped, but haven't done that. I've already ordered a mono amp...just finished wiring all the vehicle in preparation of receiving the amp.

Thanks for answering.

Last time I tried something just to see what would happen....was not a good turn out.

Anyone out there have a little more "informed" opinion?

Nothing is going to happen, the most is you put the amp into protect which will go away once you remove the load.
Twistid,

I appreciate the feedback. Just trying to learn here. I tried doing a search, which doesn't happen very often on here.

Again, thanks all!

You are right, you won't be wiring them in series or bridging, but you will be wiring them in parallel reducing the ohm load in halve. So as long as the amp can handle those ohm loads in the channel then you'll be fine.

If not, you'll just go into protect mode.

I gave it a try and my amp powered my speakers just fine. I made a trip to Tucson and back...about three hours of straight driving and never had any issues. So thanks all for the lessons learned.
