we just installed 2 12's and a directed 250 in a sable and it was sounding nice for the 1st hour and then the highs went out and the subs were just playing. does anyone have an idea why it does this and how can it be fixed?

its wired wrong you blew out your front door and back speakers. Take out the headunit check all the connections. IF not working after that call an audio shop let them take a look. sounds like a connection problem with the install. Worst case u can try to replace the speakers but not a necessity.

As stated- most likely improper connections.

Since this is in a Sable- it could have a factory amp that would need to be bypassed.

Are you using the HU to power the mids/highs?

take it easy,

well there you go. You need ot hook up the subs to the headunit check the settings also make sure u have the wires from the subs connected to the amp.

LOL - mine was a higher end model too - iirc deh-9300. Low mileage too, it was sitting around for year collecting dust.

One or two, they are still subwoofer outs and are mono summed signals from both left and right. Even the 2 RCA subwoofer pre-outs on the 2nd one...
