Yeah in my 2nd gen the rail for the window was right behind the speaker cutout. So I had to build a smaller door pod to fit my speakers in there.

Could you use a spacer?

I have a 94 s10 and 6.5's fit in the door just fine

I say 4x6 plates. Its a 4" speaker with a tweeter in a plate. Nice, easy components in the dash.

Yea I was thinking of using those infinity kappa plates, didn't I post a link.

Well the truck is a 2nd gen but you have the older door panels.
