Question: single 12" for SQL $500

I have an 02' mustang GT convertible. I have saved $1000 to spend on a SQL woofer and appropriate amp. My question is this: I have limited space available, and decided I definately want a sealed fiberglass box. I would like it to be 2.5 cft net or less if possible. I want to know... for a small sealed enclosure, what combination of subwoofer and amplifier can I purchase for $1000 that will give me clean yet DISGUSTINGLY loud subbass.

-further questions about my electrical setup and whatnot pm me-

when I say disgustingly loud... what I'm hoping for is something that has comparable or preferably higher output than what I have now..... I currently have 2 JL 10w6 running off a laznar optidrive 500.2 (NOT w6v2, the older w6)

Like Hundreth said, 2.5 sealed is generally enough room for a 15. If you are concerned about output like you seem to be, I also suggest upgrading to a 15. With $500 to work with, almost any sub is within reach. And if $500 wont buy it, its over-priced anyway. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Sealed, you aren't going to get disgustingly loud... But for 2.5 cu ft I think you should go up to a 15...
Mag 15, Fi Q 15, Brahma 15, TC3000 15

+ RF T1001BD
X2 on the subs. For amps, there is alot of choices! US amps Md1d or AX1000DE, All RF 1000.1's, Kicker 1200.1, Memphis Mclass 1000 just a few.

i really don thin 15's will fit into an 02 stang and its a vert i barkly fit a 15 into a firnds 99 stang copue built box inside the trunk and it was sealed
I wasn't talking about 15's, I was talking about a single 15, one. If he has 2.5 cubes and at least 16.5 (or so) inches of heighth for the actual driver (and can mount it angled), he can fit plenty of different 15's. Hell I have one of my xxx 15's in a 2.0 sealed box.

With 2.5 cubes I'd port a 12" Mag and give it about 1000-1200wrms.
:werd: Something along the lines of a ported 12" would be really nice:naughty:
My friend has a 03 gt convert and 2 10W7's sealed, I must say, those things wannnng in that car:eyebrow: So you could also do that option, with a eD Nine.1 amp should be about $900-1000 fitting in your budget perfectly.

I'd still go with a ported 12" though unless you like symetry:D

cant fit a **** 15 in a mustang trunk....go look at one and tell him how to fit a 15" Box in there...you cant...only 2 12s sealed - one 12 ported or - 2 10s ported will fit in there without either having to have the box sealed or building it in there...they are very small trunks
