Question on sub mounting

I am wanting to run 6 8s in my single cab truck. One of the ideas I had for mounting them was to run all 6 subs across the truck. I have 52" or so from side to side to work with.

Here is my question. What is the min. amount of wood that I can leave between the cuts and be ok? The subs require a 7" cut out and the subs are 8 & 5/16ths overall around.

So basicly... I will have about 1" of wood between each speaker hole cuts and with the subs mounted, each speaker would touch-no room between them.

Would I be ok?

sealed or vented?

If you go 8 individual sealed sections then that will support that 1" piece of wood?????????? And you could go with a double face plate.....
I did think about sectioning of each sub to have its own chamber.

I mean I was planing on atleast doing that for groups of 2 or 3 subs

I run (3) 12's like you describing. I double baffled it and chambered each sub for extra support. Box is solid as hell.

If you are worried about not leaving enough wood, double baffle it and be sure to run a brace to the baffle to keep flex to a minimum.
ok so even if the hole cutouts are within 1" apart from each other it should be ok aslong as there is bracing and it is double baffled?

Umm...dont know why no one is catching on, but if the OD of the sub is 8 5/16 and the cutout is 7", you need at least 1.32" between each cutout
good looking out man. so 1.32 between each cut should be fine hopefully.

I dont even know if am set on these yet. I am thinking about either 6 of the E8s or 2 SSD 10s. I can never make up my mind on new builds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'd just get 1.5", chances are you'll be off at least a little bit
