question on "ports"

Ok I am almost done with my ported box, But I need to know the minimum distance the port has to be from the back of the box. It is a round port 4" in diameter and the back of the box is wedged so there is like a 1" diff from the top of the port to the bottom of the port were it faces the back of the box

I think it's 2-3" of clearance from the back wall that you need
