question on power after re-wiring

So, i have 2 12' kicker comp vrs in a ported box. they are 4 ohm final dual voice coils, rms power rating is 800 rms.

i kinda **** at this stuff, so please tell me if anything i write is incorrect. I blew my amp that i had bridged, so now im looking at wiring the subs in parellel, making it 1 ohm overall. if i did do ths, would the rms rating still be 800 rms?

what amp is it? what ohm load does it put out 800rms at? wiring in parallel is going to drop the ohm load on the subs and make your amp work harder you need to make sure its a 1 ohm stable amp first.

He COULD be right. They are either 2 or 4 ohm dvc. They COULD have been at a 4 ohm final impedance theoretically, but his amp would have been just fine at 4 ohm no matter what amp it was. It almost certainly would not have blown unless he was gain happy or was running it on a 9 volt duracell. I'm going to guess he actually had it at 1 ohm or even .5 ohm to begin with depending on the impedance per coil.

I had a power acoustic BAMF 1800/2, that was 4 ohms bridged pushing 760 rms.

Heres a link to the subs, Kicker DCVR124 (10DCVR124) Non-Amplified, Loaded Subwoofer Enclosure Systems Enclosed Car Subwoofer Systems Car Audio Car Audio, Video, & GPS Navigation - Sonic Electronix

I have the older version of those, but im pretty sure they are the same ratings.

But i do know that my subs together in the box, all together runs at 4 ohms.

And, ill just be buying a new amp, the bamf is completly fried. it worked for a couple days, then the fuses blew and i vhanged and it smoked once i hooked it all up again.

Yeah it looks like you didn't set your gain correctly then. You just kept turning the gain up and blew it. Read the gain setting tutorial and then leave it alone. With a cheap amp, prefab box, etc you can't expect to do hair tricks. Just enjoy it how it is after you set the gain properly.

the gain migh have been set too high at first, but after i blew the fuses i tured everything down alot, so thats not what fried it.

And, you dont realize, but i have no amp. it doesnt work at all. doesnt turn on, nothing, its gone. i want toge a new amp 1ohm stable.
