is component speakers like 4 speakers a pair ?

is the tweeter and mid different ?

i mean if i have a 2 channel amp and 1 pair of components do i need 4 channel amp to connect the tweeter and mids ?

or does the wires from tweeter and mids goto the crossover and from crossover just 2 wires come out ? or 4 ?
