Question for religious people.......

bad example...... how would 2 of the first people on earth know what killing and stealing are?
If you took my shit id be pissed, thats how. This was an example that is used in ethics classes. Maybe I remember/quoted it wrong. But its basic knowledge that what is mine is mine and you dont take it. Refer to the baby example I gave.

If this person reached for your shit wouldnt you slap their hand away? I would say that they knew what that was at least.

The killing is arguable. Assuming that they have food, they probly know to kill and hunt.

Or you coudl say dont kill or harm me, or cause me pain. I think thats also a basic feeling, you would know if someone harmed you even if you had no other knowledge....

come on adio...

Its kinda based on the assumption you have some type of property, since you have been living/surviving.

I am a Christain, it influances my moral beliefs.
That's a scary thought...... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have a serious question though. If we are so special to God, being created in his own likeness for essentially his own glory......why did he put us in such a mediorce and relatively unimportant part of the universe? I would think for something so "special", he could have created a much more spectacular or unique place for his special beings whose apparent sole purpose is to worship him and give him glory (and those who fail to do so are banished to hell [whatever that means]). Yet here we are.....on a pretty average rock, circling a mediocre star in a small solar system within an ordinary galaxy tucked off in a mundane corner of the universe. Given the considerable effort he supposedly put into creating the Earth, humans, universe, etc.....you would have thought that we ranked a little higher than where he stuck us! And apparently it's all only ~6000 years old, yet he went through the effort of creating everything to appear as though it were ~13.6 billion years old just to confuse the hell out of us!

sin has destroyed and tarnished our planet...and also you don't think that earths natural beauty is breathtaking? Waterfalls, mountains beaches...isent that one reason why millions of people spend money on traveling? We have yet to discover something as amazing and complex as our planet.

Every view is a matter of opinion. An omnipotent being is ridiculous. Every aspect of it does not fit.

So many things don't make sense to me.

"If God wanted man to go to heaven, why did he put man on earth in the first place? Why did he not simply put man in heaven from the beginning? I find it hard to believe that man with all his capabilities, desires, and complexities was created merely to sit and bow and scrape and worship. Certainly there is not, nor ever was, a human tyrant so vain and proud that he wanted his subjects merely to bow and scrape obsequiously and subserviently before him from dawn to dusk, let alone for all eternity. I certainly can understand why Satan wanted to rebel against such a static, regimented, oppressive, boring society. From what you have told me so far, I would have had to side with Satan in the rebellion, for although I consider myself a humble man as men go, I could not bow and scrape and sing praises all day to a being who threatened me with punishment and eternal torment if I did not."

If you want to know what that is from, PM me.

Personally, I would've done a better job with the people I created in my own image. Or maybe he's leaving that to Natural Selection to take care of. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i just read this through from pg. 12 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
I read up to 8. Then skipped to the end. I have to re-run my alt to batt. in 0 gauge. I don't have time for this!

I'll keep contributing good questions though.

"I certainly couldn't believe this. How could a god who was so vicious, sadistic and hateful create a world with so much beauty? Even man with as much evil as there seems at times to be in him, still at other times exhibits incredible strength, self sacrifice and loyalty, and degrees of the conflicting qualities of mercy and justice. Your Lord God has none of these qualities. Certainly there never was a man however vile who could do to another man what you claim God does to those who do not respect him: torture them for all eternity. Any man, no matter how foully he has been mangled, tortured or murdered--like Priam whose whole clan was slain or Agamemnon who was murdered by his wife and her lover--would eventually relent after years or centuries of torturing his foe."

"If I did accept your system, I would have to side with Satan against your God; even knowing that I would be tormented and tortured forever. The injustice and viciousness of your God is so appalling. I have heard terrible accounts of human sacrifices by savages on distant coasts; but certainly, even they never thought of torturing their victims for all eternity. I have heard frightening accounts of terrible monsters, Cyclops, gorgons and medusas, but these monsters are as tame and gentle as lambs, compared to those described in your book of Revelation. And you tell me of Lord God's peaceful, merciful and all-forgiving nature."

if we were indeed created in his own image, either he looks really weird and fucked up, or some people just got the short end of the stick.

Maybe god looks something like this.

Not to mention the fact that all the shit is going to hit the fan in just a few short years, here. Common God, why 2012? I mean over 6000 years why end it on such an odd year?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

it's a more legit year with the Mayan calendar. And that's the thing, the Mayan didn't believe in God, how could they predict the end of the world? Perhaps their gods are better than your one God
